A series of practical discussions for married women to encourage them to live Godly lives as wives and mothers.
Life isn’t easy these days for women who desire to live as God intended. Women constantly juggle with the responsibilities of their homes, families and for many their careers as well. Young married women can benefit from the wisdom and experience of older and more mature Christian women within the church.
The Bible outlines these principles in passages such as Titus 2 v 3-5.
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behaviour, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.” (ESV)
So it is in this context that a group of young married women meet with older mature women for spiritual encouragement and fellowship. The group meets on a Saturday evening once a month, to share a meal together and engage in some lively discussion. The subjects covered are:
- How to love your husband and children
- Living a self-controlled life
- Being pure in thought, word and action
- Being a homemaker
- Learning to be kind and recognising the hindrances to kindness
- What the Bible teaches on submission to husbands
